Modern fertilizers primarily consist of macronutrients (primary nutrients) such as Nitrogen (N), Phosphorus (P), and Potassium (K), with micronutrients (secondary nutrients) like Calcium, Magnesium, Sulfur, Zinc, and others included as well. The advent of synthetic fertilizers has greatly improved both the quality and quantity of food available today.
